Sometimes You Take the Leap

Sometimes you take the leap not because it's comfortable or exciting or easy. Hell, it's everything but. It's uncomfortable. It's scary. It's hard. But sometimes that's why you do it. Because life is about choosing adventures, testing your limits, and trying, despite all of the fear and doubt in your mind. It's not about the safety in the landing. It's about the thrill of the fall.

I'm jumping into something that quite honestly scares the poo right out of me (TMI!). As of right now (hello January 1, 2015), I'm committing to myself (and I suppose now, to you!) to blog every day this year. I've also committed to launching a podcast this February. Eek!! I'm so insanely excited ... but I'm also scared. Really scared.

I'm scared that I won't be enough. I'm scared that what I create and put out into the world won't be worthy of being shared, or read, or listened to. I'm scared of being judged. I'm scared that you won't like the podcast. I'm scared no one will read my blog ... and then I'll be a loser. I'm scared of being a loser.

Those fears are as raw and real as it gets, sweet friends. Those are my heart's fears about my huge leaps I'm taking this year. They're my utter truth. My raw emotions. And though some of them sound silly when I say them out loud, I have a feeling you can relate. I bet you've felt those same scary fears while launching your own project or putting yourself out there. I bet you've spent too much time wondering what others will think about you, without even giving them the opportunity to think it. I bet you've judged yourself more critically than anyone else ever has or ever will. I bet you've wasted more time thinking about the negative things people "may say" about you than about the good things people have already said.

So, let's do this together. Let's take these big scary leaps together. Let's tell each other howw freaking awesome we are and that we have greatness to be shared with the world. Let's leave sweet, encouraging comments on each other's blogs and instagrams. Let's write each other "go get 'em" emails. Because taking these big leaps is so much easier when we know we're not alone.

I'll be blogging every day this year. I hope if you're reading, you'll comment and let me know you're there and that I'm not alone. And I hope you'll leave your blog URL and Instagram so I can do the same! There are far better things we can do together than apart.
